Wiberg - Seasonings & Single Spices

Wiberg Berger & Co. G.m.b.H was founded by Wilhelm Berger in 1947 in Austria. The initial idea of the establishment of this company was to maintain the availability of a mixture of seasonings for processed meat products with a consistent taste. In 1954 Wiberg moved to Salzburg, a city in Austria that was more representative than Stuhlfelden, the initial location of its establishment. In 2005 Wiberg established a new fully automated plant in Freilassing - Germany. The plant began operations at the end of April 2008.

Wiberg has successfully identified the taste preferences of processed meat products in several countries whose populations are accustomed to consuming these types of products. For example, Wiener sausages have five different types of seasoning mixtures each of the countries of Italy, the United States, Germany, Russia and Australia.

Wiberg is a leading seasoning company with more than 75 years of experience. More than 88% of Wiberg’s products are aimed at the export market to 79 countries around the world. Wiberg has thousands of products with a very wide range that can be classified into several categories including:

  • Single spices, which is a type of seasoning in whole form or has undergone processing processes such as grinding, drying, crushing or other treatments with the aim of making it easier to use.

  • Seasoning mixtures for certain processed meat products. Each spice mixture is named after the processed meat product.

  • Food additives both single and mixed with various functions to improve the quality of the final product.

  • Combi products are mixture of seasonings and food additives for certain processed meat products. This combi product is very practical in its use because almost all seasonings and additional ingredients are already included. During the production process only salt and sodium nitrite / nitrate need to be added.

  • Specialty products are products that are made specifically to fulfill consumer orders. By providing seasoning samples or describing the taste and aroma characteristics of the final product, Wiberg can create a specialty product that is produced exclusively for consumers who order it.

  • Production processing materials, products consisting of a mixture of several ingredients that can help reduce production costs and / or improve the characteristics of the final product.

Wiberg's commitment to maintaining product quality is evidenced by obtaining an ISO 9001 certificate since 1994. In addition, since 2004 Wiberg has received a halal certificate from a halal certification body recognized by the MUI (Indonesian Ulema Council) / BPJPH (Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Produk Halal).

Of the thousands of Wiberg products only a few items have been used by meat processing factories in Indonesia. Thus each factory has a very wide opportunity to carry out product development and experiment with using Wiberg products.
